Eurochem has opened a new 220 million chemical terminal in Sillamäe
Russian chemiscal manuacturer Eurochem has opened a new liquid chemical products processing Tankchem terminal in Sillamäe port on December 6; the company has invested 220 million EEK in the terminal.
According to Eurochem, the terminal fits all modern environmental requirements and is one of the most modern in the region. Due to favourable natural conditions of Port of Sillamäe and the port’s proximity to the EU-Russia border, Tanchem terminal is highly competitive.
The terminal's total storage volume is 55,500 m3. The planned annual capacity of the chemical terminal for total processing of chemical products is up to 1 million tons per annum.
The terminal project includes 3 reservoirs for methanol (12,500 m3 each), 2 reservoirs for various chemical products (3,000 m3 each), 2 pumping stations (500-700 m3/hour per line), 22 tank car capacity railway platform for tanking various products and 5 pipelines to piers. Also a firefighting station, boiler house and other necessary infrastructure.
The selection of petrochemical products to be transshipped at the terminal includes methanol, acetic acid, vinyl acetate, butyl acetate, toluene, monoethylene glycol.
