SILPORT (Port of Sillamäe) and Baltic Chemical Terminal have agreed upon cooperation for developing a new terminal.
Board Members of SILPORT Vitaly Ivanov and Margus Vähi and representatives of Baltic Chemical Terminal Ltd., Chairman of the Council Aadu Luukas and Chairman of the Board Аleksandr Volohhonski signed Agreements on Cooperation and Building Title today, on September 21st , 2006. The goal of the cooperation is to develop a new liquid chemicals terminal of Baltic Chemical Terminal Ltd. in SILPORT. The expected capacity of the terminal will be 1 m t of ammonium and 0.5 m t of liquid carbamide fertilizers per year. Cost of constructing the terminal will be 45 – 50 m EUR. SILPORT will construct new 1.2 km break water with 4 berths (depths -10m to -13m) for the terminal.
Investors of SILPORT and Baltic Chemical Terminal met the Prime Minister Andrus Ansip and the Minister of Economic Affairs and Communication Edgar Savisaar to inform them about the launch of this new join project at SILPORT.
