Narva Line started with regular trips from Sillamäe to Kotka

Operator Narva Line started with regular cargo trips on shipping route Sillamäe-Kotka, in the beginning of summer the company plans to start with passenger shipping as well.

According to Narva Line’s project manager Mr. Karl Kolk the schedule has been put together on the basis of wishes and needs of transporters, also supported by the fact, that at the moment there is no passenger shipping on the a.m. route. “The nightly trips are enabling drivers to rest in the cabins and continue already fresh with their journey in the morning. When the passenger shipping begins, probably also some daily and shorter trips will be added, which will last approximately six hours”, said Kolk.

The vessel will depart from Port of Sillamäe every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday at 20.00 and from Port of Kotka every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 20.00. The nightly trips last twelve hours approximately.

Narva line LLC, the daughter company of Saaremaa Shipping Company, operates on the shipping route with cargo and passenger ferry "Vironia" , bought from Silja Line. "Vironia" is 158 meters long and 21.6 meters wide. The ship, which was named Star Wind earlier, has space for 370 passengers and 940 line meters of vehicles. There are 60 cabins on the ship. The speed of "Vironia" reaches 18.5 knots.

Silja Line used to operate this ship on its daughter company’s Seawind lines Turku -Stockholm and Tallinn – Helsinki. From last autumn "Vironia" is owned by Estonian company Euro Shipping LLC.
